Derek has over 17 years of experience practicing US immigration law in various capacities, including an in-house immigration counsel role in New York City for a large global media conglomerate. His experience includes successfully managing large US immigration programs for Fortune 500 clients across various industries including technology, financial services and health. His additional legal experience includes several years practicing employment litigation in New York City.

He also spent many years as a strategic corporate human resources partner for several large organizations in both Canada and the US. Derek received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and his Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York.
